FAQ

I work with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting, child and adolescent issues, postpartum support, trauma, abuse, and couples counselling.
All sessions are 50 minutes. My fees are $100 for individuals and $140 for couples. Unfortunately in Australia at this stage, only Psychologists can offer medicare rebates through the mental health care plan, however, my fees are based on the out-of-pocket cost you would typically pay to see a psychologist. I do not offer any no-fee or bulk billing as I work in Private Practice. I understand not everyone is able to afford full fees, you may submit an application for Financial Assistance consideration through this form https://thegentlecounsellor.com/financial-assistance
My in-person sessions are held at my office in Oxenford (Gold Coast, QLD Australia). For privacy reasons, the street address is provided in the pre-appointment reminder email.
Yes. I offer video online sessions through Halaxy Telehealth.
I support clients holistically by incorporating interventions such as Attachment Theory, person-centred, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-informed, mindfulness, and Play Therapy. The counselling experience is unique to each client.
I am a registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I have a clinical supervisor and undertake supervision and professional development regularly to meet my registration requirements. I have over 10 years of experience working within an Attachment Theory framework. I specialise in supporting mothers through their postpartum transition, inner healing and parenting challenges. I have a background in Child Development, Education and Psychology through my Bachelor in Child & Family Studies and Primary Education, Master of Education Counselling, and Graduate Diploma of Psychology. I am also a registered Circle of Security Parenting facilitator.
